The Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) is a globally recognized certification offered by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) for professionals with extensive business analysis experience. It validates your ability to perform business analysis at a senior level.

  • Have a minimum of 7,500 hours of business analysis work experience in the last 10 years.
  • Within this experience, at least 900 hours must be completed in 4 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Knowledge Areas, totaling at least 3,600 hours.
  • Complete a minimum of 35 hours of professional development in the last 4 years.
  • Provide two references.
  • Agree to the IIBA® Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions.
  • Pass the CBAP® exam.

The CBAP® exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions covering the six BABOK® Guide knowledge areas. You have 3.5 hours to complete the exam. The questions are scenario-based and assess your ability to apply business analysis concepts in real-world situations.

The passing score for the CBAP® exam is typically in the range of 65-70%. However, it's important to note that you must achieve a passing score in each of the six knowledge areas. Even if you score highly in some areas, failing one can result in an overall unsuccessful attempt.

  • Exam Fee: USD $325 for IIBA® members and USD $450 for non-members.

The CBAP® certification is valid for three years. To maintain your certification, you must earn 60 Continuing Development Units (CDUs) within this period and submit a recertification application along with the required fee.

Yes, the CBAP® exam can be taken online via remote proctoring, allowing you to take the exam from the comfort of your home or office. Alternatively, you can choose to take the exam at a designated testing center.
